To Be in your Thoughts

When you said so, with me forever.

Impressions…

To Be in your Thoughts

By Tyler Lucas Mobley

Don’t know how I got here, but I’m happy to stay,

make myself comfortable, dance around and play.

Was it something I said that popped me in your head?

Nice of you to have me, you really didn’t have to,

all the ways of wishing, sure did bring us true. Love

when you have me over, feel I could stay awhile,

best part of being here is getting to watch you smile.

And when the children ask, ‘were you like this when

you were young?’ We’ll only momentarily interrupt

our impressions of sizzling shrimp to ask with

condescension what is meant by ‘were young,’ then

straight back on the barbie we’ll go. I play the harmonica

between your legs, lost in enchanted song. A realized

seat upon the piano bench of time, always playing

for as long as you are mine. Throughout your darling

days my little whispers tickle as they trace your wings

with the morning dew we once knew. As you tread the

garden of your golden hour mind, find me tiling away,

tending with love the fruits thereof.

Re-minding Reminders

Don’t stray from the weight of the world.

Re-minding Reminders

By Tyler Lucas Mobley

If sunshine be butter then

take me for bread.

Life’s sweetest sentiments

fall unsuspecting as ripe

coconuts in Manhattan.

All this momentum up a

waterfall, never a thought

to test the flow.

Did you remember to re-mind?

Change the soil of your fertile

drum, realizing then how green

a thumb you’ve been sitting on

all along.

Turning stones in a prized search

nevermind the reward was in the

act. Don’t like the taste of your

cerebral soup, no need to involve

the staff, sprinkle in a re-minder

for a taste of the gods.

Ahh yes, Limitless all along, for

the water was always wine and

fish delight the offer of your net.

An old vinyl re-minded, suddenly

plays new grooves. With sultry

disguise the best thing that could

ever happen has a painful start.

In the moment of re-minding the

world behaves congruous to an

internal illumination. From this

vacuum of doubt, any reality

to resume wayfaring thought,

an ax to grind existence.

Eternal Resolve

The pleasant pairing of space & time. Originally titled Passion Patrol.

Eternal Resolve

By Tyler Lucas Mobley

Pleasure running out my toes

greed blown from thy nose

sung in manor of mountain temple

obscuring boundaries when able

to coax frequency with command

returns oneself to cradling hand

of a world all for you.

If It’s Time We Must Bear

George Harrison’s Living in the Material World… comes to his son in a dream.

If It’s Time We Must Bear

By Tyler Lucas Mobley

Untool mind to spare time those steps

never taken. Relishing difference the

song of new eyes, a respectable space

comfortable, not overdone. An orbital

perspective feels the pull of a world

willing you back to cuddle up and listen.

All was a trap beyond our hitherto existence, a

collection of shapes behaving as one striding being

with the sum of human efforts playing out in precisional

tattoos, till accusations arise about an unacknowledged

separateness between two arms on one body driving

the operator mad with itchy skin, deciding best march

for Andromeda, agonizing surrender.

Arriving before we’re ready if it’s time we must bear,

recline to find it’s not there, hatching then a chick of

eternal incubation, cute, fluffy, and unchanged.

Surprised to notice those baby steps were always

at your feet, a breadcrumb trail for mice of men.

Clicking Reel

Clicking Reel

By Tyler Mobley

Letting out line, mind a clicking reel, wonky

film projector tempting realities to

sprout from skull and politely ask the present

for a dance, only to ruin her and take her place.

Sea surface storms about how the heart wants

if skin would show it, left with throwing rocks

to ripple the calm, trusting it will return when

our minds are ready.

Marble monks on city hall contain all things and

none with how they hold themselves,

conversing behind our backs, you’d swear on

their rolling eyes, unmoved movers of sacred bust.

Falling as a precious drop onto vacant dune,

giving life to dust in a flood of visions, that

may last the next rain.

Nature, then Something else entirely…. Literally

Are some people content with not achieving great things?  If giving the opportunity who wouldn’t?  Many of us settle with what we can get by with.  Is that because his or her dreams seem to far away?  Is it the way a person is raised from a young age, or the environment they’re born into?  Are some people just more naturally driven towards success and power while others are happy with what life gives them.  Perspective is everything, I could wake up each morning and be happy with the food, comfort, and security that many of us desirer so badly.  But even then unless I am a monk or an removed from society, that wouldn’t satisfy me or most people as it appears.  Does this show us a glimpse of human nature?  That if a person knows what is possible economically then he or she won’t rest a day till they are satisfied.  But in early agrarian civilizations I think it is known that people didn’t behave this way.  Or perhaps whoever grew the most wheat got the most women?   Since our physical needs are accommodated so easily in modern society that it allows us to be creative and competitive.   Then why aren’t all of us driven the same way as other?   Is it television’s fault?  Maybe a person does believe he or she is doing great things and that alone is enough for that person.  In that case what is the determining factor between that person and any successful figure that has worked their way to the top.  Where I arrive at now is that people are different, interest and what makes them happy.  We are all born with different skill and ability, therefore what makes one person happy does not have to apply to the next.  Why and How?  If you believe in destiny then I know your answer.  Or is that just what makes humans so successful, interesting and beautiful creatures.  We vary more than any other known species, but we know that our genetic make up only differs by less than 1%.  So it has to be our awesome brains then.  It is true that some people are born with higher intelligence than others, but does that cross over to drive and competitiveness.   Are others just more animalistic which causes them to want to out do his or her neighbor.

If you live in America you were told that competition is good, a sort of laissez faire mentality; and in sports it is completely necessary.  But perhaps we have reached a point of interconnectedness through the internet, that if something is good people are going to find out about it.  The reason we have a hundred different brands of toilet paper is because someone thinks that it is profitable to sell it.  Lets say we got ride of every single unnecessary company and job and only kept business that sold a good product or service at a fair price, and anyone else was told to go home and do the thing they love.   Perhaps you wouldn’t need a job, perhaps for every Facebook like you got was worth a bit coin or some sort of adjusted currency that if you were to express yourself online and when people like it it would be profitable.  Maybe you had to work a real job that people in a functioning society depends on i.e. construction worker. work as that for till a certain age then if you feel ready you could stop and pick up a hobby or do what ever it is you love.  There would constantly be a new body of employees ready to put in there time.  If it turns out that working in a restaurant is what makes you happy you would be free to do it for as long as you liked, obviously earning more than you would as on the peer rewarded retirement so to speak.

I’m going to end it there, my point being is, I think there is a better way to run a society, who knows what the future will hold for us, with nano technology and such, where are we going on this crazy ride.  Bound to Earth, for now
