Brave New World

When people are deprived of wealth while others burns their’s on image.  What will happen next? The people distracted by work, news, a so called life, to suppress is the end.  When a common goal is set, strike and protest will reach the feet of giants, hell will be thrown to the desk of gold.  I’m a Marxist dream of revolution.  Uprising of peace waged with war for justice and the uncovering of right and wrong, to settle the debt of the people and nation.  I lived through the time when the world woke up, sparked the greatest change is history, when storms recked the foundations of hope and homes.  Greed burned a hole in the pockets of powers, it blurred the numbers of bank statements making them come up short in shaky hands.  To speed up the progression of humanity by making these mistakes now, in this modern era. Unbalance division of wealth is an age old problem that will meet it’s match through the connectivity of the world.  Aldous Huxley said that “Men do not learn much from the lessons of history, and that itself is the most important of all the lessons of history.”  Sovereign nations should use history as the basis for policy, or at least be consulting with an eye doctor the see what is on the horizon.  The progress of liberty has been made only on the surface.  How long can things really continue down the same path as they’ve been on, major problems have only been pushed back to be dealt with later.  Major change is frightening and is sure to piss off a lot of people but if something isn’t done to fix how our government operates were going to be worse off than if we implement change today.

History shows that empires fall, unbalance of wealth, opportunity, and happiness.  We are all hungry, some for success others just for food.   All men are created equal sure, but show me how that applies in the social world.  The social contract binds us to this dream that is on display in magazines and movies.  “We are the all singing all dancing crap of the world” – Tyler Durden  It is happening all around us, the craziness of the world presented in an appealing syntax to spark our interest.  So we can have a moment of grief, gratefulness, or a shake of the head then we go on our way.  Although the Earth centered model of the universe, we now know is wrong, we still go about business as if we are.  The world is in our heads, we cruise through space around a black hole, laughing through infinate space, the only way to go.

Stepping out from Dissonance

Temporary escape, we all desire, removing, drawing back, recharge, but we never leave this world.  True absence is impossible, even if you were to go to space someone would have to know you are there.   People populating profound products of their imagination, Particles exist in waves and as matter, a duality of a lunatic, or so it would take one to believe.  The imagination is everyone’s best friend and worst enemy, its free entertainment while laying on your bed, meanwhile it creates hideous monsters underneath that same bed.  Words roots our experience as they flow effortlessly after years of socialization.  Imagination uses these words to grab ideas out of thin air, or perhaps to change the wavelength of the particles in your brain to generate new thoughts.  Is there an idea field where all possibilities lie? Do we pick out knowledge and jokes one by one?  Is there a certain order of thoughts that unlock new ideas.  I think that would have to be the case, ideas build upon themselves, just as math does.  A foundation of knowledge is not necessary to understand a subject’s most complex spheres, but to understand how galaxies form you must have an understanding of gravity.   As we are beginning to understand the brain, we think that the brain is organized in this very way.  That the complexity of thought is correlated to the vertical neurological chain matching the very understanding that is necessary to move on to the next level.   Are video games just a manifestation of this inner workings of our brains?

Jab and jive tough to strive for what we can’t afford

Counter attack to we quickly react to those who shame us

Hand tightens vision focused, the thrill is in the moment

Energy of the day is put to rest with the sun but the struggle continues into the night.

Thank you for taking the time to read my unorganized thoughts.

Unbecoming Student

The human experience, I’m a college student living in the craziest time in recorded history.  Input from every direction possible, my day consist of lectures, note taking, socializing, studying, and eating meals in the dinning hall.  Probably for most this will sound familiar to you.  Depending own your own opinion you may look back and think, “Those were the best times of my life.”  To be honest it has been for me too, the only problem is I’m not sure where it is taking me, I’m sure young adults around the world feel the same way.  College life is an experience we all buy into, late nights, parties, papers. Does this prepare people for the real world?  Stress I’m buried under stress of school work, everything thing I do or trip I take I know there is school work I could be doing, it is a constant uphill battle.  Even by writing this right now, I should be reading for political theory class tomorrow.  I don’t let stress kill me, because my approach to school is my own.  I’m going to go to class, take notes but in the end I’m going to get out of it what I want.  Grades are irrelevant, the meaningless facts that are on the test that ultimately make up your grade will most likely be of no help to you once that grade is given.  What I take out of the class is what interest me, what sparks my curiosity, I love being exposed to new ideas, but forcing me to be judged on whether or not I choose to retain the information, it is not entirely wrong but could be approached in a different way.  Grades should not be the be all and end all of school.  You should be given a grade on if you had a good time and do you think you grew as a person.  I’m at college to have the time of my life, to learn, to meet knew people and learn about their lives, this is what college is for me.  Don’t get me wrong I have learned quite a lot in almost 3 months, but what I’ve learned about myself has been even greater, and for those people that don’t lift their heads out of their books every once in awhile, well I hope it works out for you.  I’m going to put in the amount of effort I feel comfortable with, but most of all I’m going to have a good time with my friends.

Where will this get me, I don’t know….in debt yes, a job, maybe, a job I like, optimistic I will stay.

I write from my dorm room in the paradise of University of Hawaii at Hilo where it rains everyday.  I know I am not alone, every person has doubts concerning the best use of there time. There may be other things I wish I could be doing, but I’m lucky to be here, we all are lucky to be part of the human experience. Image
